CDC (Center for Disease Control) and NIH (National Institute of Health,
Office of Biosafety) have defined four levels of biosafety based on a
combination of laboratory practices and techniques, safety equipment and
laboratory facilities. Class IV provides the greatest overall protection.
The components included in our Adenoviral Expression System kits are classified
Class II agents.
The following is an excerpt taken from the NIH webpage ()
(BSL 2: Biosafety Level 2):
Biosafety Level 2 is similar to Biosafety Level 1 and is suitable
for work involving agents of moderate potential hazard to personnel and
the environment. It differs from BSL-1 in that (1) laboratory personnel
have specific training in handling pathogenic agents and are directed
by competent scientists; (2) access to the laboratory is limited when
work is being conducted; (3) extreme precautions are taken with contaminated
sharp items; and (4) certain procedures in which infectious aerosols or
splashes may be created are conducted in biological safety cabinets or
other physical containment equipment.
MSDS
It is important for the safety of our customers that MSDS (Material Safety
Data Sheets) be available around the clock. Therefore, MSDSs of our products
and compounds are available online at our web site: http://www.qbiogene.com/literature/msds
In order to be able to download the MSDS, you need to know the catalog
number of the item. You can also obtain the MSDS for Adenovirus related
products by fax or email by contacting our Technical Support Staff at
