The
applications for FISH are nowadays widespread in areas like preimplantation
genetics, prenatal and postnatal diagnostics. FISH probes are used
to detect chromosomal aberrations in all fields of Oncology, such
as Leukemias, Lymphomas, and Solid tumours. In contrast to other
molecular techniques FISH detects aberrations at a single cell level
and is therefore very well suited for minimal residual disease and
evaluation of very small samples.
