TRAPeze^® Telomerase Detection Kit
The Qbiogene TRAPeze^® Kit is based on the TRAP assay to detect Telomerase activity in cells. In the assay, active Telomerase adds telomeric repeats to an artificial template (TS = Telomerase Substrate). The extended products are amplified; generating a ladder of products with 6-base increments starting at 50 bp. Detection can be made by gel electrophoresis using Ethidium Bromide, Syber Green, Radiography or Silver staining methods or with the specific TELactive Elisa kit.

Each reaction mixture contains a control primer and a telomerase substrate control for amplification of a 36 bp internal standard. Incorporation of this internal positive control makes it possible to quantitate telomerase and, in addition, to identify false negative samples that contain Taq polymerase inhibitors.

The kit provides sufficient reagents to perform 112 assays. With these reagents, at least 40 samples with appropriate positive and negative controls can be analysed.
