Purification of total RNA from cells and tissues, gels or
solutions
The RNaid® Plus Kit is similar to the RNaid® kit in that it purifies
RNA from gels and solutions, but also provides the additional
feature of purification of total RNA from cells and tissues.
100-600 µg of RNA can be isolated from 1 g of tissue or
108 cells using the RNaid® Plus kits. Protocols are included for
animal cells and tissues, bacteria and yeast, and the procedure
can be scaled up or down. Cells or tissues that are difficult to
lyse may require prior mechanical disruption. (See the
FastPrep® System in Chapter One for difficult-to-lyse samples).
The RNaid® Plus SPIN Kit comes with all the reagents provided
with the RNaid® Plus Kit and also includes spin filters and
catch tubes for more rapid purification.
