Single Satellite FISH Probes
The 2nd generation of Direct Labeled Satellite DNA Probes by
Qbiogene are specific to each individual chromosome. They
hybridize to highly repeated alphoid and classical DNA
sequences located at the centromeric regions of human chromosomes.
The various probes in the Satellite range produce sharp, bright
signals allowing for rapid and precise identification and enumeration
of human chromosomes in metaphase and interphase
cells. Specific chromosome analysis, marker chromosome
identification and the detection of aneusomy/an euploidy are a
few of the potential uses for this range of probes. These
Satellite probes can be easily used on various sample types,
such as cultured cells, touch preparations, buccal smears, cytospins, frozen and paraffin-embedded tissue sections, sputum
samples, sperm samples and bladder washes. Essentially
these probes can be used in all aspects of routine and research
work in genetics and oncology/pathology.
The 2nd generation Satellite Probes are manufactured using
Universal Linkage System (ULS®) technology. The labeling of
these probes employs a platinum based ULS® chemistry allowing
the probe to be directly labeled without the use of enzymatic
incorporation. This provides improved signal intensity
and specificity when compared to previous labeling methods.
Microscopy filter recommendations
Green fluorochrome is FITC–excitation 495 nm, emission 520
nm. Red fluorochrome is Rhodamine–excitation 565 nm,
emission 590 nm. Aqua fluorochrome is DEAC-excitation 429
nm, emission 476 nm. For optimal visualization use specific
single band pass filter sets. For co-localization, use multi-band
pass filter sets (available through Qbiogene).
Technical information
Satellite probes are provided with hybridization buffer allowing easy mixing of various Satellite probes and other probes. They are directly labeled with Red and Green fluorochromes. |
