New Biodegradable Transfection Reagent

CytoPure is a revolutionary new reagent for transfection of plasmid DNA into a broad range of mammalian and insect cells. CytoPure is the first transfection reagent on the market proven to biodegrade into small, non-toxic molecules upon entry into the cell. Derived from a proprietary cationic polymer, the biodegradable nature of CytoPure increases the transgene expression and reduces the cellular cytotoxicity typically caused by large cationic polymers. The increased viability of transfected cells makes CytoPure the optimal choice for researchers trying to establish stable cell lines.

Biodegradation Mode of Action

Illustrated in Figure 1, the cationic polymers of CytoPure function by associating with negatively charged nucleic acid molecules to form a polyplex having a net positive charge. During endocytosis, the cationic polymers within the polyplex protect the nucleic acid and later facilitate release through the nuclear membrane. While other cationic polymers tend to accumulate in the cell nucleus resulting in high toxicity, CytoPure polymers biodegrade into small, non-toxic molecules which promote increased cell survival and overall cell health.

Available in Two Formulations for Optimization

CytoPure™ is available in two formulations: CytoPure™ -cmn is suited for a broad range of mammalian cells such as 293T, Cos 7, and HeLa. The second formulation is CytoPure™ - huv, which has been specifically designed for HUVEC and other primary and difficult to transfect cells. CytoPure™ reagents are easy to use and are suitable for both first time users and those experienced in transfection.

Stability & Storage: CytoPure™ is stable for 1 year when stored at 4°C
